Women in Film: Final Reflection and Analysis Assignment Help
Due: Monday April 15 by 8pm
Value: 15% of your final grade
Overview:
Each of the seven modules in this course has been given a “title” in the form of a quotation from a film or from a course reading/resource. For this final assignment, you will identify the source of each quotation, and reflect on how the quotation relates to the films and issues explored in the unit.
Guidelines:
1) Choose 5 (of the 7) units to discuss in this final reflection.
2) For each unit
- a) identify the source of the quotation (which film or reading is the quotation borrowed from?) and briefly describe the context of the original quotation in the film/resource. (1 mark each x 5 = 5 marks total)
- b) How does the quotation relate to the specific themes and issues explored in both films in the module – and in the course as a whole? Please explain your response using your own words and be specific. (2 marks each x 5 = 10 marks)
Notes:
Your responses to question 1 will be evaluated based on the accuracy of your identification of the quoted passages and descriptions of the contexts in which they originally appear. Make sure you document your sources.
Your responses to question 2 will be evaluated based on the accuracy and relevance of the connections you make to the films and the course themes, and the clarity and depth of your analysis.
This assignment is designed to encourage you to reflect on the content and themes of each unit, and to discuss how they relate to the overall focus of the course. Give yourself time to think and explore connections. This is NOT a research assignment. I am interested in the connections you see, and in your analysis of the relevance/significance of those connections in relation to the learning outcomes of the course.
Finally, please note that in accordance with the college’s policy on Academic Dishonesty, plagiarized assignments automatically receive a grade of zero.
