ERIN’S POST:
Executive summary
Purpose and method of this report
The purpose of the Total Rewards System is to enhance motivation. Employees are currently lacking motivation in the work environment which leads to a weakened organizational culture. The purposes of the report are to
- Determine whether motivation can be increased and whether doing so will improve morale, attitude, and performance.
- Recommend ways to enhance motivation through a rewards system aimed at employees.
Scholarly literature was reviewed based on case studies, interviews with employees, and integrated theories. The literature has indicated that improvement is possible, if not likely, when employees are heard and have a voice.
Findings and conclusions
The literature is supportive of a total rewards system where intrinsic and extrinsic motivators are implemented. That is, both tangible and intangible benefits are supported through these measures.
Recommendations for sustainability
Continued development of the program will lead to sustainable rewards not only for the employees but the organization through enhanced performance. Hopeful outcomes are based on continuity. Stakeholders will benefit using this widespread measure. The employees are not the only ones who are going to benefit, where consumer reward is viable based on the attitudes and behaviors of the employees.
