Difference between the Mean Age of Female & Male PPT

Overview: Prepare a PowerPoint poster that demonstrates your mastery of the concepts we learned this semester. This assignment assesses the following learning objectives.

  • Provide experience in calculating simple statistics by hand and using available software packages
  • Provide students with an understanding of which statistics are appropriate for a particular empirical problem
  • Perform and present statistical analysis in a format that is consistent with professional standards

I have provided two data sets in this module as SPSS files. I did not identify the level of measurement. This is part of your assessment.

Data: There is one data set available to use beyond the 2018 GSS posted in this module.

This is a SPSS data set created by Dr. Chaires in Criminal Justice. The unit of analysis is police stops. You will need to look at the variable view to get an idea exactly what information is included in this data.

Instructions: Prepare a document in a poster format using PowerPoint. This document must include material form Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9,10, 12, 13 and 14.

  1. Start with one or two hypotheses
  2. Use a table that identifies the variables and their level of measurement
  3. Prepare at least one bar or pie chart
  4. Prepare a table of means and standard deviations for all interval-ratio variables
  5. Construct confidence intervals around means and proportions in the table of means and standard deviations.
  6. Perform one difference of means test and present the results using a bar chart and the proof of statistical significance or lack of such
  7. Present one cross-tabulation with a Chi-Square test of significance and describe the strength of the relationship
  8. Present a scatter plot and a correlation coefficient –talk about the strength, significance, and direction of the relationship
  9. Write one short paragraph that links your hypotheses to your analyses

Difference Between a Penetration Test and A Vulnerability Assessment

You are a new IT security professional for a small police department. At first you did not see your agency as being a large target for attacks.

However, the city recently appointed a new and very controversial police chief. Following the appointment of the new police chief, you discovered a plain text file in the root of the C: drive on a server that said “hacked by the KDC.”

You have reported this to your immediate supervisor, who has assigned you to perform a penetration test on the agency’s network and to perform a vulnerability assessment.

Although you strongly agree with your supervisor and realize that such measures are necessary, you believe that it would be much more appropriate to outsource this to a security consulting firm.

To fulfill your supervisor’s initial request, you are preparing to perform a preliminary network penetration test on your agency’s network. However, you prefer to take an automated approach and are wondering if such network penetration tools exist.

Task:

Create a PowerPoint presentation (No longer than 20 slides) explaining why the vulnerability assessment for the police department’s network should be outsourced by doing the following:

Note: The slides in your presentation should include only the main points you wish to make, with more extensive information included in the presenter notes section of the presentation.

Explain the difference between a penetration test and a vulnerability assessment.

Identify the steps that should take place in a vulnerability assessment.

Discuss the risks involved in conducting an internal vulnerability assessment.

Present the steps your agency should take to conduct a vulnerability assessment with a third party, including legal considerations such as applicable laws and ramifications of ill effects or discoveries of the vulnerability assessment.

Justify the legal considerations you presented.

Include presenter notes for each slide.

When you use sources, include all in-text citations and references in APA format.  When using sources to support ideas and elements in a paper or project, the submission MUST include APA formatted in-text citations with a corresponding reference list for any direct quotes or paraphrasing. It is not necessary to list sources that were consulted if they have not been quoted or paraphrased in the text of the paper or project.

Note: No more than a combined total of 30% of a submission can be directly quoted or closely paraphrased from sources, even if cited correctly.

Difference Between Economies of Scale and Economies of Scope

Week 2 Discussion

Context:

Firms seek growth. One source of growth is external growth from a merger or acquisition.  Often mergers or acquisitions are justified on the basis of the expected benefits from “synergies” created by the merger of acquisition. Economists know these “synergies” as economies of scale and economies of scope.  There is almost always in a merger or acquisition one of these forces which is the predominate force.

The focus of this discussion will be on understanding the difference between economies of scale and economies of scope.  What are the key differences?  Use these concepts to determine whether gains from economies of scale or  the gains from economies of scope was the principle reason behind the merger or acquisition.

The Assignment:

Select one of the mergers or acquisitions below:

Sirius XM acquired Pandora, was this about scope or scale economies?

The merger of Sprint, T-Mobile and Metro PCS, was this about scope or scale economies?

The merger of Strayer University and Capella University to form SEI, was this about scope or scale economies?

Make sure you explain how economies of scale and scope differ.  Describe how growth in the case you select is created from either an economy of scope or scale.

Note: In your discussion posts for this course, do not use Wikipedia, Investopedia or any similar websites as reference supporting your conclusions.  Use of these in any form or to any extent taints all content.  They should never be used in any professional writing.

To earn full credit you must post at least one direct post with your conclusion and at least one follow-up post as a reply to another post.  Make sure both posts focus on the questions under discussion.

Understand the Difference Between Endothermic and Exothermic

The direction energy moves determines whether the process is considered endothermic or exothermic, and tells you how  the temperature of a system changes.  In an endothermic react on or physical change,  energy is absorbed and the overall  temperature of the system decreases.

Some examples of endothermic processes include the melting of water in a so   drink or the evaporation on of a liquid.  Similarly, an endothermic reaction on takes in energy for chemical changes to occur. One  example is what occurs in an instant cold pack like the ones used to decrease the swelling caused from a sports injury.  The‐
