The concept of stress management is to help people attain effective techniques to overcome the vulnerabilities of stress to live prosperously through the grace of God. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28 – 30 KJV).
Stress is experience through humanity which can be both good and bad, preventative management can be useful to avoid exposure to an individual temperament that will affect their body.
When a patient is overwhelmed with stress some of the strategies that will be beneficial towards their healing must involve implementing a time management schedule that will assist with prioritizing tasks that have to be completed in a timely manner, keeping a journal, breathing exercises, meditation, as well as a workout regimen to improve mood.
In addition, a patient can also nurture their relationship with God by mediating on the Word of God, uplifting weary mindsets through prayers, communing with church congregation to express and share love for we are to endure life humbly by walking with Faith. “Therefore we are always confident, knowing that whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5 : 6 – 7 KJV).

Stress management is the ability to handle stress and keep it in a more controlled manner. We all experience stress, from work, home, family & financials. When we take on more we experience more.
The best example to give on the concept is your own experience. I work in substance use and have debt and pay for my bills alone. I have to manage my stress levels so I can be effective in my work, people who depend on me.
If we overload it can lead to failing health and mental health (Elo et. al., 2003).
The best way to handle stress is to teach people methods to help with stress. Some techniques that have been used are muscle relaxation, cognitive-behavioral skills, meditation,(Murphy 1996) yoga and any form relaxation. I had a client with many mental illness diagnosis. We had to learn how to work with him as his world was always very stressful on beliefs that weren’t real. He would become stressed if his medication changed in any form.
As we know sometimes manufactures can change color or shape. He would not take his medications and his stress level would climb daily.
We would always have soft classical music playing in the house and we made it a point to take the time to talk to him and give him information about this very thing that can happen.
It worked every time. People that have mental illness should not have to deal with these things as they battle their own minds. We became trained on neutral voice, calm walking and techniques that would help the client even ourselves from dealing with stress.

PEER #3 KELLY
Stress is a normal part of life, a psychological and physical reaction to things that happen (Mayo Clinic, 2021). Limited stress can motivate and challenge us to find solutions to problems, but when demands become larger and more frequent, the brain’s natural response is to release hormones that elevate the heart rate and cause a chain of responses that respond to danger or a threat.
When the threat has gone, the body is supposed to return to a relaxed state. In modern life, where we are faced with more mental and emotional dangers than physical threats, this natural defense system can become unbalanced. Stress management helps to reset this built-in alarm system.
Stress management techniques vary depending on the severity of the stress. For those who have an anxiety disorder, stress management may include psychotherapy, medication, psychoeducation, and finding support groups (National Institute of Mental Health, 2018).
For a person who is simply aware of a rising level of stress, or to incorporate stress management techniques in to daily habits, a healthy diet, exercise, recreation, social activity, and hobbies add variety to work and responsibilities. If a person is already mentally and emotionally healthy, he is more likely to process stress and find ways to mitigate it.
