Language Differences Research Study Assignment
According to the past researches done by different professional researchers, different nations across the globe has experienced a wide gap between the lives of both men and women. This is as a result of the influences impacted by the society to the two genders revealing and exposing their difference in life affairs. Some of the open evidences includes the dressing code of both genders, division of jobs at family level as well as at school levels, biological differences defined by the sex, language differences among others. In this paper we are going to focus on the language difference between the men and the women and how this differences changes as time goes by, in relation to the women’s increased power in the society.
Considering different cultures and believes the nature of women has remained to be under men in almost every aspect of life. That is in terms of power, capabilities, energy among other related factors. As a result, this has made women to offer a lot of respect and honor to all men when they address them. This implies that even the language between the two genders has been influenced by this kind of respect and honor to favor one gender which is men. As a result, women end up using polite and soothing words when addressing or making requests to men. They usually do it as a show of humbleness and great respect to men (Haas, et al. 2018). For instance words such as Sorry to bother you, please, kindly, I beg, among others are being used while addressing men. Otherwise, men do not use such language when addressing women. This relationship between men and women has led to language differences between the two genders.
When it comes to the emotional nature of women, it has contributed much toward their unique language which is totally different from that of men. Women are characterized by emotions of sympathy, care, compassion among other related attribute. This in turn controls the way women communicate their language in order to satisfy their emotions. For instance languages such as sorry, take it easy, among others are being used by women to express their feeling and emotion on a particular situation. However, a quite number of men do not have emotional feelings which could change their language in any way thus creating a big gap between the languages of these two genders (Blanton, et al. 2020).
The differences in language between women and men was there before, is still there, and will still continue to be as time and years goes by. This is because of some natural aspects or factors influencing the language between the two genders such as emotional feelings in women as opposed to men (Mulac, et al. 2017). Some cultural practices like this notion of women should honor and address men with respect which are still holding to date has as well contributed to the existence of language differences between men and female.
To conclude, the language differences between the two genders is predicted to still hold despite of the power given to the women by the society. This is because some of the factors influencing these differences are natural and not expected to change in any way soon. Therefore, women will have their unique language as compared to that of men even for the coming future.
