Important Guidelines of Strategy Planning Process Presentation
The student will create a brief PowerPoint presentation and provide a two-to-three-minute presentation using voice-over. In your text, Chapter Nine, Table 9-6, “17 Guidelines for the Strategic-Planning Process to Be Effective”, assess these seventeen guidelines. In your opinion and based on the readings from the chapter, rank the top three.
For example, let’s say you think the following are the most important (ranked from number one to three). It will be presented in this manner
Number One Most Important – Guideline Six – It should challenge the assumptions underlying the current corporate strategy.
Number Two Most Important – Guideline One – It should be a people process more than a paper process.
Number Three Most Important – Guideline Fourteen – It should not disregard qualitative information
Use at least one outside source in supporting your answer.
For the presentation, the student wants to present as if they are presenting to a group of peers at a conference. The student will use a total of five slides:
– Slide One – Cover slide (your name, Course Number, University)
– Slide Two – The Number One most important guideline
– Slide Three – The Number Two most important guideline
– Slide Four – The Number Three most important guideline
– Slide Five – Reference(s)
The student does not need to use the note section for elaboration on the slide. The voice-over will achieve this. It is very important to validate and support your statements. Show the reference as an in-text citation within the slide(s).
In slides two through four, if you the student wants to include bullets points under the guidelines to discuss, that is welcomed. If they just want to show the guideline and discuss it, that is acceptable.
The focus on this presentation is
– Organization of the Slides
– Analysis of the assignment
– Quality of the explanation, and
– Professional Speaking
Also, remember to limit what is written on the slides to just key points. If a lot of information is written on the slides, the audience has the tendency to read the slides as opposed to listening to the presentation.
