Guidelines: This reflection assessment will challenge you to critically reflect on your existing knowledge, questions, assumptions, and articulate new perspectives as a result of that experience by demonstrating a connection between the experience and class content. You will also articulate a transformation of perspective of yourself or about a particular issue/concept/ problem as a result of the experience and new knowledge. Read the article “Cost of Quality” by Daniel Zrymiak (provided below this forum in Moodle) and use the questions below to guide the construction of your reflection. Your reflection should be approximately 1000-1100 words. Refer to the “Grading Rubric – Student Reflections”. Consider the cost-benefit trade-off between the cost of performing activities to maintain product quality and the cost of correcting non-conformance/quality. Which is the better strategy? Why? Which of the COQ activity categories described in the article (external, internal, appraisal, prevention) do you believe has the most significant impact on project success or failure? How can we balance the quality of the product and the quality of the process while considering the cost of quality? (see textbook section 11.10)? What are the advantages to following a set of quality standards (such as ISO 9000) and what effect will that have on the cost of quality in a software project?
